For this commercial interior design refurbishment our client wanted to upgrade an existing block of the Ohope TOP 10 Holiday Apartments to offer a deluxe 5 star experience to the guests. At the time the project was undertaken travel was still off limits and so the Urban Lounge Interiors team wanted to give the apartments an understated luxe resort look with an organic feel so that guests felt like they were being transported further afield.
The concepts as presented below:
There were two key aspects to consider when creating the interior design concepts for these apartments: availability - what could easily be procured or shipped to New Zealand during the pandemic and practicality. It was important to find pieces that not only offered that next step up in luxury compared to the other accommodation available, but were functional too. Everything had to be commercial so that it could withstand high wear whilst being easy to clean and wash regularly without any damage occurring such as bed linen shrink at high temperatures. Plus each item needed to be replaceable if necessary.
The finished apartments reflect the coastal environment of the Ohope Beach setting and have proved popular with guests. Throughout the apartments organic and natural colours give a contemporary and light feel to the space. Tropical palms and ferns feature throughout appearing on lampshades, walls and as artwork whilst the bedroom covers feature bamboo insignias. Ratan-look furniture and decor adds to the holiday getaway vibe of the apartments, whilst ceramic tiles provide a texture and a warmer tone.
The result is a beautiful holiday apartment that not only the client and guests were very happy with but that was finished without any disruptions from Covid-19 - imperative when you already have guests booked in!
