the brief:

Near Cambridge, Sanderson’s Tamahere Country Club has set out to be New Zealand’s most prestigious Retirement village, providing a luxury retirement lifestyle in the heart of the Waikato. Drawing inspiration from the finest resorts worldwide, the entire village is designed to feel like a never-ending holiday. The Urban Lounge Interiors team were tasked with bringing this glamorous vision to life in their Clubhouse, a social epicentre for residents.

"Sally and her team are very personable and have neat personalities. They never let me down in their ability to deliver something special and unique. They are very punctual in coming back to me with design options and schedules, as well as answering any queries."

Fraser Sanderson, Tauranga

the outcomes:

Gleaning inspiration from Cambridge and the surrounding area’s equestrian heritage and breathtaking rural landscape, the Urban Lounge Interiors team designed a warm and inviting lodge-style setting for the Country Club’s residents and guests, with luxurious details at every turn.

A colour palette rich in tone and texture exudes warmth, layered with lush furnishings, like rich leather upholstery and plush settees, perfect for escaping crisp Waikato mornings. Noble materials feature throughout, with natural timber in the high-stud ceilings, panelled walls that are a nod to tradition, and herringbone floors that give way to marbled, stone-look tiles. The finishing touches are no exception, with precious metal elements finding their way into the artwork, including a statement, chainmail installation above the bar.

The classic styling is offset by modern details, illustrated especially in the bathrooms: bold floral and fern wallpapers complement intricate penny-round tiles, with faceted glass ceiling pendants and sinks, and copper tapware adding an extra hint of glamour.
