the brief:

Pāpāmoa Sands Freedom Lifestyle Village is a unique lifestyle community for the over 50’s, located in Golden Sands in Pāpāmoa: a community designed for its laid-back residents, with modern homes, and resort-style facilities, just a short walk to the beach. The Urban Lounge commercial team provided interior design and procurement consultancy for a new 5,500 square feet Community Centre complex at the heart of the community village. As the residents’ social activity hub, the brief was to create a resort look and feel - a perfect fit for a suburb that announces itself as a “sunshine paradise” as you drive in.

the outcomes:

The Urban Lounge Interiors team created a fresh and breezy resort interior using stained timbers and moody paint colours on the vaulted ceilings and walls. Cheeky tropical parrots grace the ceiling pendant lampshades, lending their bright, cheerful colours to bold upholstery fabric choices for seating and soft furnishings throughout.

The holiday-mode atmosphere is evoked through natural materials like rattan and wicker furniture, with Sisal-look carpets and robust vinyl plank floorings - both also chosen for their durability to withstand the busy social calendar on offer. Wooden ceiling fans, big leafy palms and potted tropical plants bring the breeze into the oasis, with copper accents in the bathrooms adding a luxurious finish.
