Julianne CHOU

Julianne Chou brings a thoughtful blend of architectural expertise and interior design sensitivity to the Urban Lounge Interiors team. A registered architect as well as an interior designer, Julianne focuses heavily on technical design and detailing , helping translate creative concepts into beautifully resolved spaces.

Drawn to interiors for their connection to craftsmanship and materiality, Julianne enjoys the way thoughtful detailing can shape how a space feels and functions. Rather than following a fixed design style, her approach centres around understanding how clients live, what matters to them, and creating spaces that genuinely reflect their personalities and lifestyles.

Much of Julianne’s inspiration comes from what already exists within a site or home - the textures, stories, objects and elements that make a project unique. She especially loves incorporating treasured pieces collected over time, giving meaningful objects their place within a carefully considered interior.

Outside of work, Julianne enjoys spending time with her partner and two young boys, along with baking, surfing, and learning about horticulture since making New Zealand home.
