Recycling inspiration found in Bali's Joshua District

Written by Urban Lounge Interiors on June 19th, 2018.      0 comments

On Sally's recent trip to Bali, she visited the Joshua District, a creative complex set amongst a stunning natural backdrop of rice paddies and volcanoes in a quiet area South of Tabanan in Bali.

Owned and run by Czech nationals with a moto of ‘recycle or die’ their philosophy is firmly centred around reducing and re purposing waste. It’s a creative hub comprising of an art gallery, café, retail offerings, a skate ramp as well as a series of villa accommodation options. The buildings are ex shipping containers and have been re purposed to create this vibrant community. Soon to be added to the complex are a shared working space, yoga shala and a bakery.

With its incredible backdrop and wonderful sustainable approach to living and community the Joshua District is well worth a visit and a great place to relax and unwind.
